What the fare covers
Translink lists a 50-cent flat fare across its Queensland network, including South East Queensland trains, buses, ferries, trams and on-demand services. Airtrain and dedicated school buses are excluded. That makes the fare a useful starting point for budgeting a regular journey from Morayfield, but it is not a promise that every transport operator charges the same amount.
A simple household budget
If two adults each make one eligible outward journey and one separate return journey, the fare total is $2: four journeys at 50 cents. This is an illustrative calculation, excluding other travel costs and special fare arrangements. Check each traveller’s eligibility rather than assuming one adult fare covers a whole group.
Changing services
Translink’s card and device rules allow eligible trips to be combined into one journey. Use the same card or device for every tap on and off. The next transfer must be within an hour; the journey can include up to three transfers, must last less than six hours, and the final trip must start within 3.5 hours of the first tap.
A phone wallet and the physical bank card should not be treated as interchangeable. Keep the payment method consistent. Missing a tap may produce a default fare. Paper tickets have separate transfer rules, so check the official instructions if that is how you travel.
For families
Translink states that children aged four and under travel free. Children aged five to 14 can travel free on weekends using an orange child go card. Check the current conditions before your outing.
Before leaving Morayfield
- Plan the full outward and return journey, including the connection to the station.
- Check service updates for your travel date. A low fare does not prevent timetable changes or track works.
- Keep enough time between connections and use one payment method consistently.
